Version 3.6 of x265 is out with amazing new features such as Segment-based Rate Control (SBRC), Motion-Compensated Spatio-Temporal Filtering (mcstf), Scene Cut Aware QP, Histogram-Based Scene Change Detection, and the inclusion of film grain characteristics as a Supplemental Enhancement Information (SEI) message in the bitstream.
